Welcome to the first Colorado Mountain Plein Air Festival. Painting outdoors and capturing the light and shadows of the Western landscape will prove to be exciting to artists and viewers alike who attend this Salida, CO, art show.

Ranging from the peaks of the Fourteeners through the headwaters of the Arkansas to historic downtown Salida, this spectacular autumn painting festival promises to be the beginning of something big and beautiful. "Come paint the Rockies with us" will be the call to all plein air painters for years to come. Directions are easy from Colorado Springs, Denver, and Pueblo.

The festival will take place in Chaffee County and run from Thursday, September 18th through Sunday, September 21st.

There will be a quick-draw and auction in Salida's Riverside Park Sunday morning from 9 - 11:30 a.m., followed by a juried show with cash prizes and sale of paintings created during the event from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Salida Steam Plant.
